Westcliff was started back in 1994 but we have been caring for the community since 1990. Westcliff and its care team have a wealth of experience within the care industry, we are a family run care home that makes its staff and residents feel very welcome in a friendly environment.

Available 24/7 for emergencies

Westcliff provides 24 hour care for all its residents, from its friendly and experienced staff. Offices are managed Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm by the homes management team but the home is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

One-to-one care

Westcliff offers one to one care to all its residents once their initial assessment has been carried out and throughout there time here. We are here for all your needs.

Westcliff house is a residential care home for adults with mental health and or learning difficulties.

We offer a variety of accommodation which includes, self contained flats with wonderful sea views, flatlets with amenity space and washing facilities to individual rooms with en-suites.

Westcliff is nestled amidst the scenic surroundings of Dawlish, the care home offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The dedicated staff at Westcliff prioritize the well-being of its residents, providing personalized care that takes into account individual needs and preferences. Westcliff has been thoughtfully designed to create a lovely homely environment, ensuring residents feel a sense of belonging and security. We encourage individuals to take the initiative in various aspects of their time at Westcliff. We provide support when needed but encourage independence and the space for personnel growth and responsibility.

We will continue to support our residents through guidance, client feedback and resources, while continuing to respect individual choices. We adapt our level of care based on our clients ever evolving needs which will ultimately contribute to their independence.

Promote work placement in the community.

It’s a true value here at Westcliff of the importance to promote involvement within the community and to actively encourage participation in local activities, volunteering opportunities and collaborative projects outside the care home. All this helps to promote a sense of belonging and creates a stronger community.

I was with Christine at her other care called Manyana in Dawlish and when she moved to Westcliff I wanted to stay in her care. I now have a lovely sea view room that I share. I wanted to go out more and now we are closer to town I can go shopping and for a coffee. Whenever I have problems either within the room or personnel problems the staff always help to solve them. Westcliff is great for me; it's brilliant, I love it and the staff are the best. Christine and the staff have turned my life around.

Exeter Council got in touch with Westcliff, so I came here and it’s great. I wanted to be in a place where I felt safe and I do here. The staff always keep an eye on me, no strangers are able to just walk in who do not live here. I love living here the staff are nice and kind. All staff are brilliant if you need anything or support the staff help you, even if its just going to the shops and bringing me my tablets on time.

I heard about Westcliff from my friend Valerie when I was at another nursing home in Dawlish. They have helped me to get out and about, even use the bus. They have helped me with my movement and my physiotherapy. The staff make me feel good and really well. Westcliff is really good and I would recommend to a friend.

A group of us moved here when our old home closed down. I used to self harm a lot before I moved to Westcliff but I feel much better now. Westcliff makes me feel safe, the staff always help me and if I need them I can approach them. I feel very comfortable talking to the staff they always do their best to help me. This is a the best place I’ve ever been, I love my sea view flat and I never want to leave it. Chris is a great manager, both Chris and Christine are very approachable.

I was staying at Langdon hospital and I was told a flat was available at Westcliff. I want to be able to live independently in my own place in the future, I feel I'm getting there. I can do any activities I want to do outside of the home and the staff supports me with my independence by letting me self medicate, that’s a big step. The staff here make me feel happy, they are very professional. Westcliff is a lovely place I have a nice room, the facilities are good and if I need anything the staff are happy to help.
